Kansas City Fashion Week

Participating as a designer in Kansas City Fashion week from 2012 to 2017 is one of the most influential parts of my journey.

Take a look…..

I’ve been lucky enough to participate in multiple seasons of Kansas City Fashion Week from 2012 to 2017. I’ve created 7 collections, including one for a jewelry designer, and am so grateful for the journey and opportunity it has provided me.

Each season of KCFW I was able to develop my design skills, continue to refine and grow my aesthetic and brand while working alongside some of the best artists KC has to offer. From models, to photographers to MUA, I’ve been able to collaborate with some of the best in town to help execute my design vision. Each of my collections told a story, through color, fabric, texture and styling. Generally a seasonal collection was ten to 15 looks, up to 30 individual garments. And generally in the span of 4 months. What a feat!

My seven collections, presented in large and small venues in KC, are some of the most intense but meaningful work I’ve done in my career. The hours spent designing, sewing, styling and sharing my vision are like a fever dream of joy and challenge. I will be forever appreciative of what the experience has taught me about myself and my skills.

Most of my collections have unique one of a kind pieces that are almost all sold and living in their new homes. Seeing the start of an idea, turn into a vision, turn into reality is sometimes hard to put in words because it is a special kind of magic. I’m so grateful for the experience.

While fashion shows are not the path of my future work, they are a fundamental part of how I view fashion, the world, my creativity and my city.
